Dear Parents
Your Newstead School Council is made up of a small group of enthusiastic parents, a Board of Trustees Representative and a Teacher Representative who meet on a monthly basis in the school staffroom. We always welcome new members so please come and join us!
During the 2008 year the fundraising efforts of the School Council and parent helpers raised approximately $22,000. These funds have been accumulated from a number of events including Autohop, AgDay, Sausage sizzles, entertainment books and the Trivia/Auction night.
Last years funds were put towards the follows:
$ 4,500 Learing needs program
$ 3,600 Two Data Projectors for classroom use
$ 350 Library stand for Room 3
$ 200 Sandpit toys
$ 700 Ten staff Jackets
$ 1,400 Mural
$15,000 On Term Deposit for Stage 2 of Playground
The School Councils goals for the coming year at this stage are to contribute to the Learning Needs Program and the installation of the school playground.
To enable these events do go ahead as smoothly as possible and to be as profitable as possible we do from time to time need additional help from families that does not require a huge amount of commitment. We therefore ask that you take a moment to complete the attached form indicating whether you are happy to be contacted should we need assistance with the running of events. Please return to the office by Wednesday 04 March.
